Inpatients Visitors Guides

  • Visitors are an important part of the healing process, and we encourage family and friends to visit the patient.
  • When possible, choose a family spokesperson to relay information to other family members and friends.
  • Visitors should respect patients’ privacy by stepping out of the room when care is being given.
  • Visitors should not visit any patient if they have cold, respiratory symptoms, or other contagious illness.
  • Two visitors per patient may visit at one time depending on individual unit policy. You may restrict your visitors if you choose. Visitor restriction lists are maintained by the Safety and Security Department.
  • Exceptions to the visitor policy will be determined at the discretion of the healthcare team and will be based on the needs of the patient.
  • The use of cell phones is prohibited where critical medical equipment is in operation.
  • Flowers for patients are welcomed, except in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and for immunocompromised patients where they may promote infection.
  • Children under the age of twelve visiting the hospital are to be accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult (chaperone) at all times, and they must leave by 10:00 p.m.
