The International Medical Center (IMC) in Jeddah

hosts the 8th Echocardiography Conference

 

The International Medical Center (IMC) hosted the 8th Echocardiography Conference on 20-21st of December 2019. The conference featured a significant number of renowned local and international cardiologists who discussed the latest updates in the field of Echocardiography in multiple lectures.


The conference also featured various workshops, among which, a workshop on the latest updates in Echocardiography (Spickel tracking) presented by Dr. Ashraf Anwar, Consultant of Cardiology in the Armed Forces Hospital; whereas, another workshop presented by Dr. Osama Abdulraouf, Consultant of Cardiology in Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Al-Ahssa, shed light on the advanced applications of transesophageal echo. 


Following the lectures and workshops, the third echocardiography rare cases forum started, and 14 rare Echo cases were presented before a specialized committee chaired by Prof. Hassan Shamsi Pasha, whereas the top three cases were honored.


Prof. Walid Hassan, Chairman of IMC's Cardiac Center, made the conference's opening statement and welcomed all attendees, followed by another statement made by Dr. Alaa Khalil, (Director of the conference) in which he thanked the attendees for their active participation and reviewed the conference's development over the past eight years.


Prof. Abdulhalim Kinsara, Saudi Arabian Society of Echocardiography president, concluded the statements by expressing his sincere appreciation for the remarkable efforts made by IMC and encouraged other hospitals to follow the example of the IMC.


The conference concluded with a scientific competition presented by Dr. Jamila Rahimi, Head of the Cardiology Department at the National Guard Hospital, which was followed by the distribution of awards.
