Dr. Mahgoub Ibrahim is a Gastroenterology Consultant who specializes in Internal Medicine, gastrointestinal, liver diseases and GI Endoscopic procedures. His clinical interests are Management of Viral Hepatitis, and Therapeutic Endoscopy. Dr. Mahgoub is the Section Head of the Gastrointestinal Center and the Endoscopy Director. He is currently the Head of Internal Medicine at the International Medical Center (IMC).
Dr. Mahgoub completed his Bachelor Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Khartoum University in 1980. Then he did his residency training program at the University of Glasgow in the U. K. Dr. Mahgoub obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Physician, UK in 1987. Dr. Mahgoub joined and completed the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy training Program at Western Infirmary/ Gartnavel Hospital and the University of Glasgow, UK as well. Dr. Mahgoub has also attained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, UK in 1997.
Dr. Mahgoub has many publications which were published in many national & international medical journals, and he is a member of the Gastro-Intestinal Endoscopy (American Journal) International Editorial Board. Dr. Mahgoub has participated and presented in several national and international symposiums, conferences, and workshops.
Dr. Mahgoub was a staff member at the King Khalid National Guard Hospital, Jeddah for 16 years where he was the Section Head of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Endoscopy. Dr. Mahgoub established an exemplary Endoscopy Unit and performed around 15,000 GI & Hepatobiliary Endoscopic procedures including many difficult and highly complex cases. Dr. Mahgoub was the Director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Training Program of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties at the National Guard Hospital. Dr. Mahgoub is interested in academic and teaching activities; he participated in the residency and intern training program where he has trained about 80 Saudi residents and interns. Dr. Mahgoub was selected as the physician of the year in 2000 for his outstanding performance.
Dr. Mahgoub was born in Shendi, Sudan and is a beloved husband and father to four children. His hobbies are reading, computer learning, and table tennis.
